South Sister

Now this is a fun little trip for those of you who want to climb a big ol' volcano and see a nice glacier on the tippy top. Sarah and I left Portland Saturday the 25th of August 2007 morning-ish. Took 26 east to Madras and 97 south to Bend. We got some food at Cascade Lakes Lodge, which is a brew house for Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. So the coleslaw at this place = horse crap, burger was pretty dry, and the bun was stale. Nice. The beer was all right though. So the town of Bend really sucks, makes me sick actually. Who ever is in charge of building this place into what it is turn down the kitsch krap. All right enough ripping on Bend we have a hill to talk about.

So we had a little trouble finding the Cascade Lakes Hwy going west out of town towards Mt. Bachelor and the Three Sisters but were on our way after a little searching. We got to the trail head at Devils Lake and got one of the last suitible camp sites. It got pretty chilly pretty quick and we didn't feel like dealing with a fire so sat around in the dark for a while and had a PBR.
